Abstract

Based on the materials of sociological research in the Lomonosov Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University, the article discusses the functions and dysfunctions of modern Russian universities by analyzing the values of actors at educational institutions. Using the theoretical approaches by T. Parsons and R. Merton universities are considered as a part of the Institute of Education. The author identifies the main actors operating in the educational, scientific and educational space of higher education institutions and describes their values.
